  • How much do you know about plastic tableware?

  • Commonly used plastic tableware is basically made of polyethylene and polypropylene. This is a non-toxic plastic recognized by most national health departments. Candy boxes, tea trays, rice bowls, cold kettles, milk bottles, etc. on the market are all such plastics. But polyvinyl chloride, which is similar in molecular structure to polyethylene, is a dangerous molecule, and a rare liver hemangioma has been found almost associated with people who are regularly exposed to polyvinyl chloride.
Therefore, when using plastic products, we must pay attention to what their raw materials are? When there is no product manual at hand, the following methods can be used to identify the plastic products that are smooth to the touch, flammable in case of fire, and have a yellow flame and paraffin smell when burning, which are non-toxic polyethylene or polypropylene.
Any plastic that feels sticky to the touch, is incombustible in case of fire, has a green flame when burning, and has a pungent odor is polyvinyl chloride and cannot be used as a food container. Do not choose brightly colored plastic tableware. According to testing, the color patterns of some plastic tableware contain lead, cadmium and other heavy metal elements exceeding the standard. Therefore, try to choose one that has no decorative patterns and is colorless and odorless.
